Thank you for your interest in Filey Bay Owners’ Association. We are a group of owners of properties at The Bay Holiday Village near Filey, set up to be a collective voice to liaise with The Bay management on the operation and management of the site and any changes that may affect owners and visitors. It is not unusual for holiday villages like ours to have an official representation to discuss the ongoing management of the site, including the upkeep of the properties, grounds and leisure facilities.
A personal message from our Chairman, Robin Lee:
Our aim as an Association is first and foremost to ensure that The Bay continues to be the place that we all love and enjoy and that it progresses as the place that we have invested so much of our time, effort, energy and money in. We feel the best way to do that is to have a voice in the decision making process that can affect our investment as owners, to work together with The Bay management, and also support each other.
What do we do? What are our aims?
- To open communication channels between owners and EV, with the aim to improve the Bay holiday village
- Offer to work with EV to make the Bay a success for all Owners, their guests, and the village management company
- Hold EV to account where required, but also be an group voice to make suggestions and thank them for positive development
- Provide a forum where Owners can meet, share tips, get support, and enjoy The Bay together.
How do we operate?
We have very few rules. However, to ensure the association is independent, the directors, employees and agents of Essential Vivendi are excluded from joining.
As a formal democratic organisation, we hold elections for a chairperson, secretary and any other posts deemed necessary. You can see the details about our committee here. You can also read our constitution here.
How much does it cost to join?
Current membership fees are £10 per property per year.
What has FBOA done?
We have met with the management of The Bay, and communicated with on a number of occasions on issues affecting owners, including:
- Pest control
- Health and safety
- CCTV cameras
- Amenity land
- Beach access
- The sinking fund
- Owner reward scheme
We aim to continue this constructive relationship to ensure The Bay continues to be a place which works for all of us.
How often does the FBOA meet?
There are informal social gatherings throughout the year when our members are staying at the village, and the FBOA holds formal meetings every 6 months, in the Spring and late Autumn.
