UPDATE TO EMAIL BELOW

UPDATE – Some owners are getting letters (in the post) AND are sending out EMAIL INVOICES. This is an invoice – it has a payment slip on it but to re-iterate there is NOTHING TO PAY. You may get one for 2023 AND one for 2024 under separate cover but again there is NOTHING TO PAY – Please ignore as it is an accountancy process. @everyone
Postal Statements

You may have received or are about to receive a hard copy printed statement to your home address of the 2023 and 2024 amenity licence and ground rent figures.

These statements are purely issued to allow Away to update their accounting system.

These figures are accurate but NOTHING is payable since the amounts are covered by your 2023 and 2024 direct debit payments.

2022 Service Charge Catch Up Payments
During late 2023 until Lynn left in 2024, Lynn set about informing all owners of their shortfalls in respect of the payment of the 2022 service charge. You were given the option to either pay that shortfall as a lump sum or have your direct debit temporarily increased by a number of instalments that you will have agreed with Lynn. Those instalments should now be approaching completion and at that point, your direct debit should be reduced back to its former figure.

You were also invited to “get ahead” for 2023 by making a voluntary cash payment. Although the audit of the 2023 service charge is not yet finalised, it is the case that the 2023 service charge will be somewhat less than the figure in 2022 and therefore any voluntary overpayments should now be refunded.

In order to assist Away in correcting their direct debits (and optional overpayments) would you please participate in the following survey. This data will be shared with Away Resorts and will thus save you having to deal with them individually for your plot.

Summary
If you only paid your 2022 catch up by a once off payment and made no voluntary additional payment then you DO NOT need to complete this survey.

Renewal of Membership – NOW OPEN
at the moment – if you have already renewed you will still get this email – please ignore this section 

As always at this time of year we start the renewal process for the next year and this year we are giving you advance notice.

The FBOA membership year runs from October 1st 2024 – December 31st 2025. To remain a member (including membership of the FBOA Facebook group, the mailing list and other benefits) you will need to have renewed by December 31st 2024 so we advise renewing ASAP.

Please remember for renewals:

  • If you own more than one property you need to pay and be a member for all the properties you own
  • The cost is only £10 for 2025
  • Each plot gets one voting right in any votes
  • If you have already renewed you will still be receiving this email so dont worry – you dont have to do anything!

As we move into 2025 and with the issues being reported in 2024, it is vital that as owners we are united and one voice. To remain legally recognised for the essential audit of the service charge we need 50% of the eligible owners every year to be members. Please ensure you renew your membership and encourage others to join!
